The Consort

Welcome to The Consort - 2014

We are a group of dedicated to singing A Cappella (totally unaccompanied), for pleasure for ourselves and others.

We sing with eight voices and we sing music from all ages - from the Twelfth Century right up to today covering Sacred Motets, Madrigals, Folk songs, Humourous songs, songs of Love and Anguish, Bach to Beatles, and lots more.

While singing with the Damon Singers, a choir based in Chesham, Bucks, in the early 1980's four of us decided to enter a quartet in a local music competition. We found we really liked singing with just one voice to a part - no "safety net" - which really helps concentration.

We've been together since then - over thirty years - in one form or another, and we now enjoy a full programme of formal concerts and other engagements such as Weddings, Fund Raising events, After Dinner entertainment or just as background music for themed events.
